When the world’s best runners gather in Chamonix each August, it can only mean one thing: Ultra Trail du Mont Blanc (UTMB).
In the season finale of the adventure running and travel series “Run Around the World,” UD ambassadors Jason Schlarb and Merejune Edwards (and son Felix) come together to attempt a career-best result at UTMB.
With a fourth place on his resume, could Jason go better? With motivation to become the first American winner, Jason’s buildup was fueled with a sincere motivation to be the best. In Chamonix with racers buzzing around the start line, the drama builds. With Mere as his crew chief, Jason faces possibly his most challenging physical and mental test of his career.
Watch the episode directed, as always, by the award winning filmmaker Ben Clark.
Shot in dramatic high definition, Run Around the World is free to watch and premiers on Facebook. Meant to inspire and show how the couple deals with taking on big challenges and risks, the series gives viewers insight into what professional athletes experience behind the gloss and “highlight reel” nature of social media.
Watch episode 6 and keep your eyes peeled for new UD gear including the forthcoming Signature Series 5.0 Ultra Vest and FK Ultra Poles…

Awesome story. Running as a family can be such a great experience. The training and racing all require a huge amount of support. I am fortunate that my spouse is also a runner. We trade back and forth to try and help each other accomplish goals. Both are fantastic experiences. I love when there are kids races ahead of the event. Only one of our kids has participated so far but it’s a start. Hopefully we are setting a good example for them. Jason, Merejune and Felix are all an inspiration!
Another great video! Thank you. Is that blue and orange pack a new pack that is coming soon, or just a custom for Jason?
it’s just a prototype of a new pack coming in 2020. Thanks for asking, Kim!
Extraordinário… esse evento, todos estão de parabéns pela persistência e muita superação!!!
obrigado, Sérgio!
